Burning Nova - Top 5 Spell Cards

Our top five spells from the thirteenth main box of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links.

Surprisingly, there's no single Ultra Rare spell card in this release. However, different archetypes (Lightsworn, Gem-Knight, Elemental Hero, etc.) have great Spell support from this box.

(The list is in alphabetical order.)

1) Fifth Hope

Normal Spell

Rarity: Normal

Description: Target 5 "Elemental HERO" cards in your Graveyard; shuffle them into the Deck, then draw 2 cards (draw 3 cards instead, if you had no other cards on your side of the field and in your hand when you activated this card).

Have the advantage of drawing up to three cards with the help of this spell. (And also not worrying much about losing via deck out.)

Vision HERO Vyon, Elemental HERO Blazeman, and Painful Decision can help fulfill this card's condition of sending a monster in the graveyard. Hey, Trunade! on the other hand, can return all of your set spells and traps so you may draw up to three cards, assuming you don't control any monsters, nor face-up cards on your field.

2) Gem-Knight Fusion

Normal Spell

Rarity: Super Rare

Description: Fusion Summon 1 "Gem-Knight" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can banish 1 "Gem-Knight" monster from your Graveyard; add this card to your hand.

A better substitute to Polymerization, as this can be returned to your hand easily, just by banishing a monster.

Use the effect of Gem-Knight Prismaura to send this card to the graveyard and destroy a face-up card in your opponent's field. Then banish a Gem-Knight monster to return this spell to your hand, then you can do the same process again on your next turn(s).

You may also use Magical Hats to easily send this card to the graveyard, and at the same protect a monster you control.

To special summon one of your banished monsters, you can use D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation.

3) Lightsworn Sanctuary

Continuous Spell

Rarity: Rare

Description: Once per turn: You can send 1 "Lightsworn" monster from your hand to the Graveyard, then target 1 other "Lightsworn" monster in your Graveyard; add it to your hand. Each time a card(s) is sent from your Deck to the Graveyard, place 1 Shine Counter on this card. If a "Lightsworn" card(s) you control would be destroyed by a card effect, you can remove 2 Shine Counters from your side of the field for each of those "Lightsworn" card(s) instead.

A Lightsworn deck can be quite tricky, your desired monster can go directly to the graveyard without you using it. So, with the help of this card, you can now target a Lightsworn monster that you need from your GY.

4) Revoke Fusion

Normal Spell

Rarity: Rare

Description: Discard 1 "Polymerization" to the Graveyard. Send 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck to your Graveyard and Special Summon 1 monster from your hand that is listed as a Fusion Material Monster on that card. The Special Summoned monster is sent to the Graveyard during the End Phase of this turn.

Use this card to special summon one powerful monster, such as: Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Big Koala, and Dark Magician.

Fusion Substitute can be used as the discarded Polymerization, you can then banish it to return the Fusion Monster to the Extra deck.

5) Searing Fire Wall

Rarity: Normal

Description: Banish any number of "Laval" monsters from your Graveyard; Special Summon an equal number of "Laval Tokens" (Pyro-Type/FIRE/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position.

Easily summon any monster that requires up to three tributes. You can then use the effect of Laval Cannon to special summon one banished monster.
